This project was completed with teens from Medford, MA, a close suburb of Boston. This particular site was being assaulted with graffiti almost everyday. One of the tasks was to address this problem. We tracked down some of the youth that were vandalizing and challenged them to be professional, ask permission, and learn age old techniques for creating public art. They were also given the opportunity to work side by side with an artist and a group of their peers.
This group was particularly interested in the way that we see seasonal changes. Using all senses to decipher environmental changes, we decided that a particularly powerful indicator is color.
